A significant update is on the horizon for The Division 2, ushering in Year 7 Season 1, dubbed “Crossroads,” alongside the major Battle for Brooklyn expansion. This new chapter brings a wealth of fresh content, storyline advancements, and crucial quality-of-life improvements designed to enhance the experience for both new and veteran agents.
Unveiling the Crossroads Storyline: The narrative takes a pivotal turn as The Division races to uncover the truth behind Sokolova’s plans. Following Bardon Schaefer’s recovery, agents delve into a deep-cover asset within the Sokolov Concern, setting the stage for a dramatic new story arc where long-awaited answers and conclusions are expected.
New Campaign: This major DLC launches players into post-pandemic New York during the fall, exploring the iconic streets of Brooklyn Heights and Dumbo. Agents will confront the growing threat of the “Purple Flame” – a new weapon type used by Cleaners that applies both burn and a “Corrosion” effect, eating away at armor and reducing maximum armor.
Content: Expect new enemies, unlockable skills (including the return of Smart Cover), and the exclusive Catalyst Exotic Mask. The Brooklyn map, while rebuilt, is designed as a direct reference to and evolution of original Division 1 tutorial areas.
Travel & Replayability: While the campaign is separate from the main game’s map, agents will be able to travel freely between Brooklyn, Washington D.C., and New York (Manhattan) after completing the campaign. Brooklyn offers replayability through world bosses, hunter puzzles, and fully replayable world missions with targeted loot.
Level 40 Boost: A new Level 40 Boost will be available, instantly leveling a character and providing a full set of Level 40 gear. This boost is included with the Battle for Brooklyn DLC.
Global Modifier: The season introduces a “Hard-Core” global modifier, offering new build-focused bonuses that scale with your Gear Cores and increase further upon defeating enemies marked with Hostile Countermeasures.
Active Modifiers: Five new Active Modifiers are introduced, allowing players to consume their current score bonus for powerful temporary boosts, effective for both solo and team play.
Manhunt Streamlining: Manhunt Scouts will continue to release weekly, but only two designated High-Value Target missions are required to unlock access to the Climax Mission, providing more flexibility for agents.
The season brings two new Named Weapons, several new Talents, and fresh additions with a new Gear and Brand Set.
Exotic enthusiasts can look forward to a powerful new Nimble Holster Exotic Holster, an exclusive Exotic Mask tied to the Climax Mission (the Tinkerer), and the highly anticipated return of a familiar exotic from The Division 1 – the Pahkan (Exotic RPK-74).
Co-op Progression: Seasonal Journey objectives can now be progressed while playing in co-op.
XP Rewards: Season XP rewards for all Living World Activities, Main Missions, and Game Modes have been significantly increased by 85%.
Flexible Journey: Seasonal Journey missions (4, 5, and 6) now unlock simultaneously after Mission 3, allowing players to tackle them in any order that best suits their build and playstyle.
Scavenging Points are now account-bound and shared across all characters (excluding hardcore characters). No more mule accounts that people would run in the past.
A one-time grant of 100% of previously earned Scavenging Points will be given upon login, replacing any existing points.
Material yields from Scavenging Points will be increased by three times in Year 7 Season 1, including optimization materials.
The aim is to create a more balanced and fair system, addressing previous imbalances.
Milestone Builds: New players will benefit from Milestone Builds, designed to help them understand build basics and item priorities early on.
Shepherd XP: Automatic endorsements for helping other players (Shepherds) have been significantly increased.
Free Weekend & Game Pass: The Division 2 recently launched on Xbox Game Pass, and a free weekend is planned (May 29th – June 2nd), with progress carrying over to purchased games.
